Problem: Sales was in need of a way to prevent sales reps from saving a sales order unless the appropriate sales manager had approved the original quote (estimate) for the deal.
Solution:
- Create 2 custom Estimate (Quote) forms. One for the sales rep, one for the approving sales manager.
- Restrict a custom sales rep role to only that estimate form and associate a custom sales manager role with the sales manager form.
- Create a Transaction Body Checkout field called Quote Approval, and disable on the sales rep form but not on the sales manager form.
- Use SuiteScript that triggers on Save to prevent sales rep from saving the Sales Order unless custom field on the Quote is checked.
